HOLY FUCK!!  My lifting partner called the guy listed in charge of the powerlifting at the Europa.  This is the current 2016 webpage for the event and the guy said he is not in charge of the meet nor is he affiliated with USPA anymore...wtf I just sent him my application with payment the other day!!  Fortuantely, (hopefully) he sounds like a good guy and said he'll tear up the check and send it back. However, now we have to try to figure out who the hell is in charge of the even and how to get a hold of them and send our apps in to them.
So, it's not Burritt?

Wow, and it's not event listed on the USPA Calendar.... The link right from the Europa page, goes there.

Something's really fucked up.

Nope not Burritt, yeah, I don't know WTF is going on,  I messaged USPA on FB, we'll see what they say when they respond.

OK, so we notified Steve Dennison of the problem yesterday and now the website is fixed...no entry form is available though, not for a few weeks.  Just waiting for the Europa to send in their sanction application.

It should be Ficca or Shumaker that sends in the Sanctioning application, as they are the one running it.

The Europa Expo is just hosting it.

That's a mess though and doesn't reflect well on the organization.

Yeah,  when my buddy spoke to Burritt on the phone he gave him a lecture about how he hates the USPA and everything wrong with it.

Now it looks like Europa is a no-go.  Now they are changing it to a geared only event.   Here is USPAs reply from Inzer

"We will see about raw as the time progresses.
John  Inzer has made it clear that he wants a primarily geared meet since, after all he sells gear and sponsors this meet by buying the space, which is quite  expensive.
He has also stated that he is okay with raw lifters but at this time the first priority is geared, single & multiply lifters."

So geared guys get in first,  with only 45 spots,  doesn't look like their will be room for real lifters,  i mean raw. ....no i don't.   So,  off to find another meet nearby.  Phuckin geared pansies

Yeah,  it sucks bc this has been a raw meet, but since Inzer is sponsoring it, they want it geared so they can push their product.

Wow. Eliminating their customer base.

Noone started their lifting career in gear or multi-ply.

Black eye for them. Meh.

Richards response:
We will allow raw lifters but only after we know we have met the demand and interest of single ply full power lifters.  It's a directive to try to focus the Europa on geared lifting.  That said, we will definitely have some raw lifters I'm sure.

Honestly this doesn't sound like a great 1st meet. It seems like you're getting resistance all along the way and doing more work than the meet directors. and I won't be buying any Inzer stuff for the foreseeable future.

Yup,  I've begun looking for another meet.  There's one in March,  I'll look more into it at work tomorrow,  that will be tough to get ready for and the age and weight classes will stuck for me.   We'll see

The RPS Redemption III, out on by Bert & Mindy Underwood, will be a great Meet. I know both of them, and their work ethic to put on a kick ass Meet is awesome. They get sponsors and hook the lifters up.
