Almost missed because you getting sick or your cutting?

Regardless, still some nice tight benching.

I had some flu like symptoms for a couple days last week.  I was lucky and it passed...hope the same for you!

Cutting isn't helping, but I think it's the sick part that really put a dent in my benching that day.

One of my 'cutting goals' is to not lose the 315 bench, as a part of my routine. Even a single... worked too damn hard to lose it, even though I can earn it back.

Thanks, yea, today is day 3.. and I slept better last night than the previous 2... didn't have that whole freezing one minutes, burning up the next stuff going on either.  ...  Although it's just about 1 pm and the ears are ringing, head is cloudy and achey... but, physically I feel better.. maybe the worst has passed !

I didn't even lift last night, just slept....

Sorry to hear you're under the weather but glad you are on the far side of it.

Benching looked real good to me. Wish I could put up numbers anywhere near those.

Thanks, eat more :)

As reference only:
Calculated 1rm in Jan 24, 2011 262Lbs. <- actually tracked some of these over at the other site. Nothing recent though. I couldn't press 225 in 2010 for more then a rep or two.

My numbers should be higher, given the training however my diet held me back for 2 of these last few years. I wouldn't eat, scared to get fat (after loosing a ton of weight at one point to get thin/lean)....

Anyhow....

Sometimes that's all it takes, just some extra rest.

Agreed...

I know I need to eat more but right now I'm tired of my fat gut.

Back in 2014 when I was doing 531 I managed a 1RM bench of 275. I really thought I was gonna hit 300 that year but then blew my back out and was out for almost 3 months. That was the beginning of the big slide.

Now I'm basically doing DB benching and trying to get to the 110s.

I hope you know I am teasing a little bit here as well..
100s-110s for DB pressing puts you at about the 225+ BB club, maybe after a couple of weeks getting used to BB press again.

275 is a good number as well. I wouldn't let that get lost...  many people don't get past mid 200s, and that's upper :)

You planning to get back under the bar or stick with DB for a while longer?

Yea, I didn't take it to heart, but the truth remains, I am trying to do a light cut now to fit back in my pants.  :o

I plan to stick to DB's for now. Not only are they easier on my shoulders but it seems nobody is around anymore to spot me when I go heavier and this keeps me off the BB since I can just bail on the DB's without getting trapped under a bar. <---- Did that a couple weeks ago trying to squeeze out 1 more rep on BB bench. Wasn't pretty.  ;D

And thanks for the words of encouragement. I am sure I will go back to BB again in the future and try that 275+ again. Can't let that go without a fight.

Yesterday - skipped another routine.

I haven't been this sick in years, years...   taking DayQuil caps like they where candy... lol

Left work early, around 2:30-3pm yesteday with the intent on getting some rest. Made it home, changed and had to work until around 10pm.

Few hours of sleep, back at the grind this morning. Hope to get some rest in this weekend...  deadlines are killing me here.

Fuuuck me.

1 more week and I get to go to Mexico...  hope to be healthy for that.

Here I am wishing I could deadlift tonight.. lol..

Slept in late, like 10:30 late.. Yes!

Took the dog for a walk, crashed due to the exhaustion that came from it.

Maybe I can rally and get a light routine in tomorrow. At least I got some sleep though.. good stuff.

Tonight : Legs

It's been almost a week now of just plain, exhaustion, headache, coughing etc.. I started taking antibiotics on Saturday morning.. already feeling soo much better.

I had a good session, died on the second half, but the first half I showed the F up!  315 for 3 sets of 5, first time for me there. After that, took a nose dive, but I still got my 10 sets in, good sets. I stayed away from heavy singles tonight, just wanted the volume. Not done with this illness yet, but it's coming.

Best part, my training partner is making a ton of improvements on his lifts. Not long ago 225 single squat sets for him.. he is busting out sets of multiple reps now... exciting!.
