Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun -- no training. Not by choice...  gotta love the "work is life" balance... working hard is one thing.. this shit is killing me.

Coming down with something, headachy and have a very slight cough starting up..

Mexico in 2 weeks... just need to make it for 2 more weeks... and then I can work less hours, but in a nice warm place :)

Good news is my cut continues, down to 216.4 this morning. To put it into perspective, I cut down to 218 for my last meet Dec to make weight.. from about 224 (my scale is/was off as it had my at 220 that morning..). So, I am down 8 lbs +/- a little, on my scale. Strength is down a little, but not an insane amount.  Benched 325 a couple weeks ago, squat 405 last week, deadlift training at 385 stil, so I am feeling ok overall with regards to strength loss.

I expect a piss poor workout tonight(continued lack of sleep, starting to get sick, stress is off the fucking charts), but I am trying to keep my head in the game here.

Will video some or all of it..

nice.

It's funny that I see those numbers as me getting weaker.. but.. my god I wished I saved some of my videos from years ago. Would be a nice reality check, and fun to watch.

But, I did go on BB.com and checked some of my measurements.. lol... like.. I had under 15" arms at one point /puke... and I upped the measurement to be 15..  maybe a quarter inch, but still I was embarrassed as all hell.

21.5" thighs... bro... I should have been wearing a dress...

Check my squat history out...

I haven't updated my stuff there in freaking ages, I actually just started going back to the site recently.. here and there...

Good fucking times...

PS: I started at 40 (couple months prior actually), so anyone complaining that it is too hard once you hit 40, needs to shut it.

Not at all, but I tell you what, I've learned to love the 5lb PRs.. or the +1 rep prs... really, once you get used to the pace, you really get to enjoy it that much more.

Takes time.. but that time goes by fast if you understand the pace, the training etc.. and enjoy the process.

Tonight, Legs

I kept it easier tonight, not feeling that great with something coming on. Woke up with a little tightness in the chest, breath deep causes a caugh. I may be dying.

Just squats, ran out of breath as silly as that sounds.

135 x10
225 x6 I do 6 here, sounds an odd number, I want to stop @ 5, it's a mental game I play, to get into the game of pushing myself a bit more... still warming up..
315 x5 - good set, felt solid
315 x5 - good set, felt good, getting winded, HOWEVER 10 reps @ 315 in 2 sets is good for me, usually ends up being 3 sets to get 10+
315 x3
315 x1 - I fell apart
315 x1 - I'm stubborn
275 x5 - felt good
225 x10 - winded.. decided against another set and against lunges.. I was a mess.. caughing started.. blah..

At least I got in there and got some work in..

Tomorrow, coughing bench presses..

PS: Training partner got his PR at 255 tonight.. he is learning well :)

Great stuff Trev, way to push through the sickness.

Well, it hit me last night hard.

I was able to get a fair Bench session in, but after that I fell apart. Clearly my numbers are down, sickness as well as my cut impacting strength. Weight is dropping fast due to being sick too.. lost a couple lbs over the last 2 days alone :(

Flu like symptoms at work today.

DayQuil to the rescue....   I should use some of those 6 weeks of PTO I have accumulated.. /sigh.

Actually, I went home early yesterday because I wasn't feeling well. I don't take sick days, I don't go home due to being sick.. so, it's bad.. and I downplay all my illnesses... /shrug

Anyhow...

Also, I tanned yesterday due to my Mexico trip coming up.
So, I burned a little.
It's 11 degrees outside and April.

Not a good week thus far :)

Arms tonight... haha..

Flu like symptoms suck, it wouldn't hurt to take a few days off the gym if it's that bad. Rest up and get better bud.

yea, thinking of doing just that.

heading out of work early today, in an hour or two, once I wrap up some db maintenance and some vmware modifications that I have scheduled downtime for today...  then..  head+pillow.
