: Deadlift Socks
: BLK00TJ March 03, 2014, 09:01:26 PM
I'm reading up on stuff that is required for Powerlifting comp, and I need socks that go up to my knees.  I guess that's to keep me from leaving skin on the bar for the next competitor.  Is there anything special about deadlifting socks or would any Walmart athletic socks do the the job fine?

SRS? never heard of that. People in my Fed DL barefoot, or socks or ankle socks. Very few people in knee high DL socks.

Yep.  Shoes in all lifts (slippers okay) and socks to the bottom of the knee for deads.  So sayeth the USPA.  There's another meet by RPS that I might do instead.

For the gym I just wear normal sweat socks.

For my comp I bought so knee high underarmour socks.

Don't over-think it.

Thanks FLEX.  I wear sweat pants to hide my skinny legs but made the mistake of wearing shorts with short socks one deadlift day.  I'll pick up some soccer socks.
