Actually, after further reading it may have been 738.5lbs (335kg)

He's arching his back, that's why he pulls past the bar and then pushes himself forward, that's an arch set up.

Well yeah, I think everyone arches a bit, but it wasn't a crazy one you see from a lot of power lifter's where their ass is about 2 feet off the bench.

I know arching is the power lifting method, but it just wasn't the way I was taught (the guy who got me into lifting/my strength coach in high school was a former Olympic shot-putter who benched 530 and is in the MN Sports Hall of Fame) and it just a pet peeve of mine.

If their ass is off the bench it's not a good lift in meet. Not sure where you are seeing this type of arch but it's not there. At every meet I've attended both as a spectator and compititor the men don't usually have that much of an arch. It's usually the women who can pull that off, but there are exceptions. Any arch at all that I do see is a product of packing the shoulders into the bench and squeezing the blades together resulting in the chest rising.

Hell of a bench press. Mind blowing anyone can hold that much let alone bench it.
