Playing Cards
« on: January 18, 2017, 10:08:15 AM »
I was chatting with a colleague today and she was telling me how her trainer has her do “cards” and times her each time.  Here’s how it works:

Each of the 4 suits in a deck of cards represents an exercise.  Her trainer assigns:  push-ups, pull-ups, burpees, and lunges.  Sometimes, instead of burpees it’ll be jump squats.   King = 13 reps, Queen = 12 reps, Jack = 11, and so forth, until Ace = 1.  So, he shuffles the deck, and draws one card after another.  For example, King of Hearts means she has to do 13 push-ups; 7 of Diamonds means 7 burpees, and so on, until all 52 cards are done.  The end result is 100 reps of each exercise.  No rest between cards - only the length of time it takes him to call out the next card.

I will tell you - I couldn't do this.  Slight possibility if I could do assisted pull-ups, but even that's a stretch.
