Shoulders been feeling shitty but what can you do.

SSB 335 x 7 paused - pausing these is a bitch.

Shrug bar dead 405 x 15 - meh

Nothing else really worth posting.

Zactly how I feel these days.

Still stronger than most of the fuckwits at my gym but that is not much consolation.

Feeling broken lately.

Lol Flex, it could be worse, you could be doing a 13 week intensive routine of brisk walks.

DB benched the 65s for 20 yesterday

pause ssb 385 x 3 tonight

I'd just finished my squat set and was looking at the video to see how long my pauses were when the gym owner came stomping up and started telling me I couldn't use my phone to go on social media  in the gym (?)

I pointed to the sign that says "filming your sets is encouraged" and he got shitty and told me to go look at it outside. I told him it was raining and if they have a sign that says filming is "encouraged" wtf is the problem. He stomped off leaving me annoyed.

5 mins later I'm about to deadlift on the platform when he stomps up and tells me in a shitty tone to put a mat down. I look confused because a retarded fat kid next to me was literally just throwing a lifting log down on the other platform. At which point I'm done so I stop my workout, cancel my membership, leave the gym, give them a bad yelp review.

I've never trained in a place that had such arbitary rules that it might as well be planet fitness but it really pissed me off.

Went to 24 hour to finish my workout.

If it ever gets to that then please just put me out of my misery...

Fronts 315 x6 - using the SSB has ruined my groove on these, because it allows some junky form. Back to work on these

Db bench 85s x 13

Heaviest in a year, my right side could have done 20 reps but my left is crazy weak and I stopped the second it became a grind

I guess I should aim for 20 with the 75s next time and not try to push up to 90s lol. Shoulder feels meh but at this point theres nothing really to do beyond sacking up and rebuilding my strength.

DB bench 90s x 15

Inching closer to the 100s and actual weight status. Shoulder didn't feel bad after this amazingly enough.

That's because DB's are incredibly forgiving for shoulders. 11 years of heavy lifting, 85% of my benching has been DB's and my shoulders are fine at 50 years old.

It's probably not as impressive as 90 x 15 but yesterday was a major milestone, 100's for 10 - heaviest I've lifted since my first shoulder surgery over a year ago.

Followed by 80's for 20 and some pause stuff.

I managed to tweak my right pec a little, hopefully just a muscle thing and it'll pass but still annoying.

Tonight, Shrug bar deads 495 x 6, dead stop but high handles. Had to use hex plates which sucked all kinds of ass. Once upon a time I was doing this weight for 20 reps :(

Still on 200mg a week TRT for now, may or may not add more but since my strength is slowly returning I'll likely stick at this.

Measured my arms which was horrifying, right is just under 18 and left is just under 17 (figured it would be smaller after a year of disuse), all those years of killing myself in the gym seem to have been wasted lol

Nice work.  Haven't done DB presses for a few years now.  No idea what I could do.

Pretty sure my 2nd labrum repair has failed.

If not failed, the most recent MRI shows the area at the back is so degenerated from the surgeries that it might as well be failed - I'm trying not to get down about it, but the constant pain and the loss of a year of my life has me really REALLY wishing I'd told the surgeon to fuck off and not listened to his claims of 100% success rate and no retears.

I lost a year and am now in worse pain than before the first surgery AND now there's some arthritis developing - likely from the surgeries and the cortisone shots to try to calm it down.

Not much I can really do other than learn to live with it, which is something I wish I'd done a year ago!

After 8+ years of coverage, my insurance suddenly refused to pay for my TRT - despite 3 consecutive blood tests showing my natty levels were @150 ish, after being off for 2 weeks - so I'm a little stressed right now. Thanks obamacare.

Sorry to hear the shoulder issues are still there. My surgeon recommended against surgery at this point for my slap tear. I've got a bit of nagging pain that flares up now and again but doesn't sound anywhere as bad as what you've got going on.

Hang in there!

Is that the inside tendon or the outside one?

They didn't repair my tear on the inside one because they said the success rate is very low.

Labrum, not tendon. It has minimal blood supply to heal and after 2 surgeries and a car wreck theres not much tissue left so the MRI image basically looks like pretty much like a tear anyway.

I also found a 1/2 bone spur in my right quad tendon thats been causing me pain for years but the surgeon says removing it means major cuts into the tendon since its grown inside it :( he said no leg work for 9 months if he took that route.

Also I've noticed my VL is slowly tearing away from the knee at the muscle attachment, its been a long term thing and I dont know how long its been an issue. Its about 1/2 inch retracted, my fear is it ends up like old ronnie Coleman's right quad tear.

On the plus side insurance finally paid for my trt, after 3+ weeks off I feel weak as hell, but I did this workout (back to normal schedule this week)

Db press

100 db x 12, 110 x 6 - 110s felt HEAVY lol

Shrug bar dead 405 x 18

Arm pump shit
