BB3's Odyssey
« on: February 16, 2015, 02:29:55 PM »
Hey all.

I am currently cutting while trying to get some strength back from taking a bit of a hiatus from lifting. I have been lifting consistently for about a month now and plan on continuing to do so.

Currently, I am doing 1x a week frequency but I aim to move it up once I get back in lifting shape.

Here is my general routine:

Saturday:
Chest/Delts -
DB Press - 3x8 reps
Incline DB - 3 x 10-12reps
Seated Cable Flys - 4 x 12 reps
Supersetted with:
Chest Press Machine - 4 x 10-12reps
DB Shoulder Press - 4 x 8 reps
Lateral DB Raises - 4 x 12 reps
Facepulls - 4 x 12 reps

Sunday:
Legs/Arms -
Leg Extensions: 4 x 12 reps - light/warm up
Back Squats: 3 x 5-8 reps
Leg Press (targeting glutes) - 4 x 12 reps
Calve Press: 3 x 8 reps
EZ-Bar/BB Curls or DB Curls - 4 x 12 reps
Supersetted with:
Overhead Tricep Extensions: 4 x 12 reps
Cable Curls: 4 x 10
Supersetted with:
Tricep Pushdowns: 4 x 12 reps

Wensday:
Back/Misc. -
Deadlift: 3 x 5
T-Bar Row: 3 x 10 reps
Lat Pulldown - 4 x 12 reps
DB Shrugs - 4 x 12 reps
Forearm Curls - 3 x 8 reps

I may revise this routine.

Goals:
Lose weight + gain some strength + size. Pretty simple. I don't intend to gain too much strength while cutting but these goals do not need to be completed all in one go.

You should have no problem gaining some strength while cutting since you just starting back up.  Just Make sure your diet is in check.  Good Luck!!

Sunday:
Leg Ext: 4 x 12 reps of 140lbs
Squats: 3 x 8 reps of 205lbs
Leg Press: 4 x 12 reps of 4 plates
Calve Press: Skipped
DB Curls: 4 x 12 reps of 30lbs
DB Extensions: 4 x 12 reps of 25lbs
Cable Curls: 3 x 10 reps of 50lbs
Tricep Pushdowns: 3 x 12 reps of 60lbs

It was a pretty solid day. My back got worn out very quickly from the squats.

I generally don't do them b/c they are worked in Deadlift but I am feeling motivated. I may throw some other things in that are overlooked.

How does the routine look to you?

How does the routine look to you?

Nothing wrong with any of the lifts. Nothing glaringly wrong with the program either.

If I were to lift on those 3 days I would probably go to a back/bicep/traps, chest/tricep, on the weekends and legs/calves/misc on Wednsday

I missed lifting today because I had to shovel my driveway about 3 times. Back was too worn out around the end + the roads were shit. I am annoyed because I felt I was going to have a solid session.

I have a mower with a snowplow on the front but it was so cold it only started for the first run through. Wind kept blowing so I had to re-do it twice. Just when I thought the wind passed..it came back.  :'( Fuck winter
