Another deadlift session in the garage.  An improvement over last week, but still abysmal.

135 x 6
135 x 6
135 x 6
135 x 6
135 x 6
135 x 3   :'(

Jim asked me if I posted my journal.  I said, "No, it's embarrassing."  He said: "You did better than last week.  Progress is progress.  Stop being a baby and clean up the kitchen."!!

I will do just that.  And I have to make my Highland Stew for the week.  It's a beautiful Sunday here.  Breezy and sunny.  :)

Don't be calling yourself short there Lisa.

Every time your lifting. Remember that the total is 100% more than 95% of the population.

Props for some great work there.

Also shhhhhh. Don't tell Jim, but his selfie thread in the shirt had me seriously thinking that he has lost weight.

Next week 155.   8)

That's a darn good workout right there.  Keep it up!  It's great to see you lifting and journaling!

Thank you, Good Sir!  I appreciate the support!

Thanks DNG!!  I see a difference too.  It's funny who we sort feed off each other.  When I'm committed, he's committed.  When he is committed, I am too.  It must be so hard for those who don't have that support at home.

If this is in pound you moved more than two tons. This is anything but abysmal. If it is in kilograms I am going to go cry a little.

Moving right along there Lisa!!!

As one who did not have support at home, I can say for a fact... it is hard! My husband will never workout with me but he knows this is something I love, just as he loves fishing tournaments. So he doesn't give me any shit about working out anymore.

I can imagine it would be hard.  Good on you for going to the gym anyway.  If left to my own devices, I'd sleep in!

I have to say, Jim is always dedicated to the gym.  It's more diet that we rely on each other's support.

Solid work on the bench.  It's coming back fast.

Thanks Mr Flexy.  And thanks for helping me.  :)

Nice Work Lisa keep it up!

Thanks much!

Since I did deadlifts on Sunday and push on Tuesday, I had planned on today being a pull day.  But Mr Flexy was squatting today so I decided to join him.  It's a good compound exercise that I ought to be doing, right?  And there's a wee wee little chance I may work from home on Friday and if I do, I can do pull that day.

A copycat of last week's squat session.  But it felt better to me.  Stretching beforehand felt much easier.  I think I was a little more controlled and had better form than last week.

Finished up with some cardio-do-do.

Squats
45 x 8
95 x 8
95 x 8
95 x 8
95 x 8
95 x 8
95 x 8

Cardio:
Treadmill, 35 minutes

I have leeks leftover from when I made my Highland Stew on the weekend, so I am going to use those up in a chicken & leek turnover tonight.  I'll try to remember to post the recipe in the recipe thread.

I don't mind it, but I get bored.  I prefer walking outside where there's plenty to look at.  At one gym we used to go to, they had TVs in each treadmill, with almost all channels available, so I could watch an old movie or cooking shows.  But this gym has 3 TVs suspended from the ceiling.  Two have news channels on them and one has sports - all with subtitles and no sound.  Snooze.  So I have my iPod.  If I listen to music I can get a little lost in my thoughts which is nice.  Or I listen to audiobooks.  But the time really does go by slowly.

And walking outside, I can discipline myself.  If I set out to walk 10 km, I will walk 5 km straight away from my house so that I am forced to walk the other 5 km back home!

Good work today.  Next week 6 x 6 @ 115.   :o

My trick is to throw a towel over the display on the treadmill. If I don't it seems like it takes forever to go a minute or an extra mile. I usually jam out to my Ipod and when a really fast, good song comes on I will take it up in MPH and run even faster until the song is over.

I think I am going to start running in the afternoons when I get home until the time changes. It is cooler here now and not so freaking humid. That way I don't waste my lunch break when I usually lift on running :D

September 28, 2014

Well, after a good long sleep last night we did some deadlifting.  Much to my surprise, I lifted 155 lbs.  Yay!

Deadlifts:
135 x 6
155 x 3
155 x 4
155 x 4
155 x 5  :)
155 x 4
155 x 3
135 x 8  :)

To be honest, I wasn't sure if I'd deadlift 155 for 1.  I am happy.

Went to visit my parents because my mom turns 75 this week.  Came home, made some turkey chili for my lunch (230 cals), and now it's time for some patio beers with Mr Flexy.
