Thanks for joining my journey. Journaling is definitely something new for me but I know it will give me some place to come back and compare to make sure I am moving in the right direction. If I'm not, I know I can ask for help to get me going.

Always be plenty here to help or offer advice. 275 for 10 is no slacking either.

So why hooks and not straps? I thought about them but was worried about what to do if I had to dump the bar.

Definitely lots of good folks to ask for help or advice here.

I use the hooks only because I had them. 15 or so years ago when I attempted to get in better shape I bought them for deadlifts. I don't think I had even seen any straps for sale then. I used them for like 6 months and they'd been sitting ever since. The nice part is I can make the wrist closure nice and tight and they double as wrist supports.

These are what I use but without the brand name on it.

It probably takes me about 45 of working time but the issue is I'm on lunch break and supposed to get an hour. It took me about an hour and 20 minutes from work to gym and back.

I can usually do this all in a little less time and still get in leg extensions.

I have not very fond memories of lunges, they gave me the worst case of doms in places I didnt know could hurt.

Good session and good luck with your 531 journey

Squats 6 on plus set = check
Goblets = check
Lunges = check

Hobbling the next few days = check. ;)

Nice work fella.

Depending on how many people I talk to it could take me 20 mins....but that's still work and my lunch only starts once I walk in the gym  ;D

Thanks, I appreciate it. Today was a particularly rough day with the lunges due to bumping up the weights on squats and goblets. I've never done goblets that high before but I figured it was time to put on my big boy pants and start lifting some real weight. I almost tipped over on the one lunge.  :o  ;D But I made it and did another set. I will not give up.

Nice work fella.

As always, thank you. Will definitely be hobbling. My left knee right across the knee cap made a funny noise when I was doing lunges. Feels ok but hopefully it doesn't turn into something.

Thankfully next weeks squat max is only for 1 because that might be right around what I can do. This 531 is definitely harder than I anticipated when I started looking at the numbers.

Haha My lunch starts when I get back from the gym. I wait in my office for like 5 minutes and then sneak up to our little kitchen and grab my lunch... :ninja:

I see the hooks....hate them. Give Versa Gripps a look when you are ready to upgrade.  ;)

Why do you hate them? I have never had any issues with them. What is the actual advantage of versa grips over these?
